Irene Doughty

Irene Doughty's love for travel ignited at a young age when she moved to Hawaii, where she started school and lived there for five wonderful, sun-soaked years. She often traveled to meet her dad, a helicopter pilot in the Army, during his deployments, visiting places like England, Norway, and various locations across the United States. Her adventurous spirit was further fueled by a summer spent in Costa Rica, where she taught 3rd grade during the week and explored the country's breathtaking landscapes on weekends and breaks. Italy will always hold a special place in her heart, as it’s where she and her husband got engaged.Initially planning on a career in teaching, Irene found her true calling in the travel industry. She began her journey by working for her mentor, Johanna van Oeveren, the owner of Holiday Planit. Since then, Irene has worked to hone her skills in creating personalized, unique itineraries that cater to each client's specific travel desires, and prides herself on building lasting relationships through great customer service. With a passion for train travel and a knack for crafting unforgettable travel experiences, she delights in helping others discover the world in the most meaningful & memorable ways possible.
